Escentric 03 centers on vetiveryl acetate, though—unlike Molecule 03—it still retains some of vetiver’s dark and smoky aspects. Vetiver is combined with the two other roots most commonly used in the perfume industry: ginger and iris. The dynamic, green, and spicy top note is dominated by ginger, which is combined with lemon zest and green pepper. The heart note consists of a rich, velvety iris, Egyptian jasmine, and tea notes. It is only in the base that vetiver, with its dark, green woodiness, takes center stage, while sandalwood, cedar, soft resins, and musk provide a gentle counterpoint to its dark aspects. The overall impression is reminiscent of a classic chypre. Sensual without being sweet—the signature style of Geza Schön.
