Vetiver Extraordinaire

Vetiver Extraordinaire is highly unusual, featuring an exceptionally high concentration of vetiver (around 25 percent—three times as much as in other vetiver fragrances)—and has sparked renewed enthusiasm for this classic men’s fragrance category. Here, Dominique Ropion introduces a new type of vetiver from Haiti, stripped of its bitterness, which he combines with five woody notes designed to highlight the fragrance’s various facets. The result is surprisingly fresh, crisp, and harmonious. A highly polished, almost pure note that expresses the true essence of vetiver without ever being overpowering.

The Perfumer:
Dominique Ropion learned his craft at the legendary Roure Bertrand Dupont laboratory before beginning his work with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, one of the world’s foremost perfumery technicians. Today, he is a star perfumer at IFF. What sets Ropion’s work apart is his blend of precision and freedom, as well as his constant search for new, harmonious accords in which he combines ingredients that are complete opposites. An adventurer who relies on his instincts. However, Dominique Ropion is also very meticulous during the final phase of formulating each of his fragrances.
