The Moon

Heavenly Romance. In the Middle East, the moon plays an important role in governing the rhythm of life, and its celestial appearance heralds the beginning and end of all festivities. In Arabic, however, invoking the moon is also an allusion to romance—“my moon”; an adoring, grandiose term for the beloved that speaks of beauty and eternal devotion.
