It was the summer of 2023—the year I returned to both Sicily and Japan after a long time away. Lemonades at the old harbor, children running through the sunlit streets of the Mazara Kasbah, warm winds on the beach, a sip of bitter liqueur every evening, and dear friends from distant worlds. I strolled through the bright streets of Mazara del Vallo—my hometown—feeling the sun on my skin and rediscovering the joy of childhood. Everything was there: my land, my love, my friends, and my closest bonds. An island is a state of mind—the perception that we are surrounded by water, and that this pure element both isolates and protects us. That same summer, I walked the streets of Japan, seeking refuge in the shade of quiet gardens, listening to the weather, and watching the hot August sun. With *Isola*, I tell the story of my love for life and the contrast—and union—of two distinct cultures. *Isola* is a citrus fragrance that uses notes of lemon and yuzu to evoke two pivotal places in my life and memories.
