L'Artisan Parfumeur fragrances
L'Artisan Parfumeur is the result of a very special challenge. During his time as a chemist, Jean Laporte was asked by a friend if he could create a banana scent for him to match his banana costume for an event at the Folies Bergères. Thus was born the first fragrance, grapefruit and vanilla scents followed shortly after.
Jean Laporte experimented a lot and mainly created fragrances with natural ingredients. With the success of his first fragrance line, Jean Laporte was from then on called L'Artisan Parfumeur and was considered the epitome of fragrance craftsmanship.
He opened his first boutique in Paris in 1979 on Rue de Grenelle in Paris. His stores spread throughout Europe, which was very rare at the time. The roots of the brand go back to a unique inspiration fuelled by his love for nature. Now, however, a new era is emerging - a marriage between modernity and the mystical, primal magic. L'Artisan Parfumeur's new bottle appears in a black, smoky glass.
